Common bird & the native tree
Winter in Melbourne, leaves change color and fall off the trees but some trees like the pink flowers gum ( Rosea ) has so many blossoms of flowers to attract the birds.
I got this shot from my work place's front yard. Two kinds of bird was there. One is The Red Wattlebird and another is Lorikeets. But the Lorikee's photos are blur so this is the bird who choose to be seen : )
The Red Wattlebird is the second largest honeyeater in Australia ( the Tasmanian Yellow Wattlebird is the largest ) and it is the common bird to see in Melbourne backyard.

Noble species in Newport Lakes Parkland
One of the largest and the most noble of these species is the Australian Black Swan. Is the most seen water birds in the park in Melbourne. May be because Australia is one of the driest continents in the world who is providing suitable habitat for water birds.

Bird announce " help the Yarra "
Litter traps floating along the river. These devices trap all kinds of rubbish that get washed from streets when it rains. The litter includes plastic, glass bottles, drink cartons, cigarette butts, as well as tree branches and vegetation debris from the parks.
Government has plan to clean the river. For me it's not just government can help the Yarra. I saw many bins are alongside the pathway. Just people 's responsible with their litter. It will make it safe for people to do water sports such as canoeing or boating, but also help protect animals, plants and fish living in the waterways.
